Yesterday I spent nearly the whole day at Barnes & Noble
Reading articles from magazines such as Time, Newsweek, and various Fashion/ Sewing publications. I read books targeted towards hip hop producer-wannabe types, and self-help books designed to live your best life now.
I can spend the whole day reading at Borders or Barnes.
Today I met with an academic advisor, Katherine who was extremely kind & processed all my papers for graduation. I asked her, "What's your educational background?" from which a whole conversation ensued, entailing our own personal interests. Hers being English, and the summer's she would spend reading books instead of playing outside with her friends. Her desire to write about her families unique quest of the American Dream, and the undeniable passion she has for English, her former major. It was a short encounter, but it reminded me of all the good things in life. How I have so much more to go, and the journey I have to reach my innermost and deepest desires. Before I left, she bid me adieu with a warm smile saying "I better hear in 10 years that you have your own business!" (I had answered her previous question of what my plans were) And I only wish you the best as well!
There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires.

summer in full effect
Finally spent some time wit ma familia, heading out full force in LA. Here we are, at Portos for lunch - fueling ourselves for the day of shopping that is to come!

These famous cheese rolls are street crack for every Glendale & surrounding areas native. Try it once, and you'll come back for more. You can bet on it.

Beforehand, we hit up Melrose & I sold off my stored treasures. Collectively, we received a $65 check from Wasteland & $56 in store credit at another Vintage store. All in all, I was pretty satisfied from the amount credited to us.
Afterwards, we headed to Americana, the new shopping complex reminiscent of Victoria Gardens/ The Grove (same building company). A key feature of the leisurely stroll included Vegas-esque watershows, built from the same company that constructed Bellagios famed waterfronts
Favorite stores included Juicy Couture, where my gold fetish hit overdrive. I also had my eye on a ghettoblaster boombox over at Urban Outfitters. By the end of the summer, I will hopefully get my money right & come home wit that! Since that was not the case, I settled for nerdy glasses & a bass-amplifying attachment for regular earpieces. Also, Elainne & I also rode the trolly, which circles the area every 15 minutes, giving visitors a complete tour of its premier attractions.

Passing through Glendale Galleria, a soft and tender reminder of yesterday's outcome:
We bouncin back, no doubt.
"Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

4 stars! :-)

Today close to 500 Business Administration graduates attented the 8pm graduation ceremony held at UCR. Several key speakers formulated generic "your no longer students now" speeches meant to commemorate the years of work that we, as students, have put into this institution of higher learning in order to gain an expensive, respected accolade by way of a "degree".
A rather lackluster compilation of google-able inspirational quotes accompanied the night. I was surprised and half expecting/wanting Professor Jasso to come up on stage and yell at us to "Make it Happen!" & "Be somebody!". Instead, I patiently waited until the last speaker read his speech through. I did, however, get chills when a student speaker mentioned setting the course curve, and the endless hours spent in the Rivera library. I did, however, recount the many ways in which I have grown over the years. And I do appreciate, those who have stuck with me all these years - all the support & love gets support & love back!
Congratulations Roomies, we have come so far!
Yet as Common says we have yet "so far to go"!
Keep pushin, Leslie.
My Passion. My desire. It is forever my desire to keep striving.

weekend before finals week
It's most definitely time to buckle up & show these mothafckas what it is all about.
I'm writing my gameplan for today & tomorrow & hopefully I will fck
wit it. I can't wait til the Lakers game tomorrow - - I know we got this.
On another note, I theorize wit some of the best in the game, but I do occasionaly refine my approach; its necessary to remain adaptable and consistent with the present times. I'm not providing you with clear definitions; I'd rather not exploit names and specific events - I'd much rather stay true to it.
Sneakers + business + beats + books + game theory have been my core competencies for the past few years now. Way Before streetwear and "hiphop" became a fashionable trend, I would swim in its fountain of culture independently & without force .. and now we got cats who swear they still love h.e.r., swearing they hip hop when they don't know who Big Daddy Kane is?
--- ON another note, I am consistently liking dudes who don't know I am alive & attracting attention from those I aint tryna fck with. What am I doing wrong?
--- ON a next level note: I WANT A PUPPY! For the past few weeks I've been extremely enamored by our next door neighbors doggie, Rico. He makes my heart swoon!
--- ON a humble note: I've been rebelling against my hoodrat chick roots and messing with flip flops. Its very eclipse-like cause you'll only see it every couple years

sweet memory
Such a sweet memory
Baby - you and me
And how we used to beautifully young
(I wonder how much you've changed)
Would we have the same chemistry?
Could you still make me laugh?
Could we still have a blast?
Are you happy? Have you've done everything you wanted to?
(To sit and smile)
Thinkin about ya
Wondering how ya doin now
How you doin, baby?
How you doin
Today is Monday, June 2 2008.
Time is that non-renewable resource that we must manage well.
Academically, its game time baby.
But you move me to excel
Your sweet memory. When I am weak, mentally drained
You massage me back to life
With your rhythm, your words, your spirit.
You most definitely move me
for a few seconds
God allows me to hear
His angels sing
