Yesterday I spent nearly the whole day at Barnes & Noble
Reading articles from magazines such as Time, Newsweek, and various Fashion/ Sewing publications. I read books targeted towards hip hop producer-wannabe types, and self-help books designed to live your best life now.
I can spend the whole day reading at Borders or Barnes.
Today I met with an academic advisor, Katherine who was extremely kind & processed all my papers for graduation. I asked her, "What's your educational background?" from which a whole conversation ensued, entailing our own personal interests. Hers being English, and the summer's she would spend reading books instead of playing outside with her friends. Her desire to write about her families unique quest of the American Dream, and the undeniable passion she has for English, her former major. It was a short encounter, but it reminded me of all the good things in life. How I have so much more to go, and the journey I have to reach my innermost and deepest desires. Before I left, she bid me adieu with a warm smile saying "I better hear in 10 years that you have your own business!" (I had answered her previous question of what my plans were) And I only wish you the best as well!
There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires.
